Steps for Copyright Registration in India


Step 1: Prepare Required Documents

  • Work to be copyrighted (soft copy or physical copy)

  • Class & description of the work

Step 2: File an Online Application

Step 3: Review & Diary Number Issued

 

  • Once submitted, a Diary Number is issued as acknowledgment.

Step 4: Waiting Period & Objections Handling

 

  • A 90-day waiting period is provided to allow objections.

  • If no objections: The application proceeds for final scrutiny.

  • If an objection is raised: A hearing is scheduled to resolve it.


Step 5: Registration Certificate Issued


•    If everything is in order, the Copyright Registration Certificate is granted.
