What is the Procedure of Trademark?

The trademark registration procedure begins with selecting a unique brand name, logo, or slogan that distinguishes your business from others.

Before filing, it is important to conduct a trademark search to check whether a similar mark already exists.

Once the mark is found to be available, the trademark application is filed with the appropriate class of goods or services. After submission, the Trademark Registry examines the application and may either accept it or issue an examination report if objections arise.

If objections are raised, a suitable reply must be filed within the prescribed time. Once accepted, the trademark is published in the Trademark Journal to allow the public an opportunity to oppose the registration.

If no opposition is filed, or if any opposition is successfully resolved, the Trademark Registry issues the Trademark Registration Certificate.

After registration, the trademark is protected for 10 years and can be renewed indefinitely every ten years.
